Demystifying food processing: what are processed protein foods?
Congratulations to Jennifer Lee, MPH, RD, PhD (c), the winner of the "Visualize Me" CNS Protein Infographic Competition, for her infographic entitled, "Demystifying food processing: what are processed protein foods?"
CNS developed the 2020 “Visualize Me” Protein Infographic Competition in an effort to increase the knowledge and awareness of nutrition communicators, healthcare professionals, and non-governmental organizations, and future professionals on the definition, types (e.g. animal and plant-based foods), and proportions of daily foods that contain protein and the sources of protein-rich foods. Jennifer's infographic will be published in Guelph Family Health Study Cookbook, to be launched this spring. Thanks to the Helderleigh Foundation for making this competition possible.

Food is medicine. Patients with COVID-19 who required a hospital stay (including ICU or in a hospital ward) will have a long road to recovery after they return home. Nutrition plays an important role in a patient’s recovery process. CMTF and CNS are pleased to announce the creation of two nutrition resources that were developed to help patients and their families, and nutrition clinicians across the country. They are available on the Canadian Nutrition Society and Canadian Malnutrition Task Force's websites along with a compilation of other COVID-19 support resources

Thematic Conference Infographics
Infographics provide an excellent platform to showcase nutrition and health concepts in an efficient, easy to interpret, creative, and colourful way. They offer an opportunity to share evidence-based information with heath care professionals working with patients, as well as to communicate directly to the public (e.g. as posters in public spaces and on social media). Over the last few years, CNS has engaged the leadership of some of our trainees create an Infographic from the CNS Thematic Conference.
